9 am – 12 pm Room 401c WORKSHOP ON THE DEEP APPROACH F. V. Tochon

The workshop is an introduction to the nuances required for transdisciplinary action and value creation in instructional design. Instructional design has enjoyed such success that it has come to a general, “backward design." A thorough analysis reveals how the outcomebased organization of instructional sequences does not answer to a proven functional principle or to an epistemology proper to the content involved. Seasoned practitioners do not sequence their lessons linearly but by integrating task domains. This integration allows the simultaneous mastery of contents and strategic skills, integrated along a transdisciplinary axis whose goal is to motivate the student in a context of real, concrete expression and social action.

Our courses will officially open after approval of the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board, probably in Summer of 2018.

The deep approach is about mindset and embodied action. It is about persons, humans, in the dynamics of living. It is something people want to live and work for. It is never fully achieved, it is always in the making, and depends upon situations.
