English Tutoring

A number applicants may NOT have the required language proficiency level in English. For them we intend to propose intensive online tutoring and courses before they access the Master or the Ph.D. program.

It is in the best interest of applicants to register as soon as possible for English tutoring sessions.

Applicants who want to take the tutoring sessions may contact us.

It is in our best interest that applicants in our program meet the highest standards of English proficiency. We may propose intensive online English tutoring and TOEFL training for 6 to 12 weeks. Tutoring will be proposed by a team of experienced English tutors. Courses taken by applicants who did not meet the English proficiency requirement will be considered Master-level courses.

English Tutoring. The English tutoring team may accept up to 30 students for online tutoring. The optimal scenario for them would be having groups of 4 to 6 and conducting live sessions over a conferencing software. Once applicants are tested, at the beginning of the semester, they will group them according to their needs and design a TOEFL prep course that would help them get the desired score on the test. Depending the student proficiency level, they would take 2 or 3 sessions of tutoring per week.

They will provide materials for extra practice and self-guided study as well. The usual tutoring rate is $25 per hour, but since we'll have groups of 4 to 6, $60 per group and per class sounds reasonable, depending the student proficiency level. If students start in January, they should be done with the entire course in 12 weeks for the B, C level students (36 hours x 3 sessions a week / 24x2) and in 6 weeks for level A (12x2). Tutoring may also be organized by third party, independent tutors.

To sum up, English prior training is important for applicants who are not up to it in English, because tutoring sessions increase the chances they will be able to focus on content rather than language proficiency. Otherwise it may postpone their degree by one year.

Our courses will officially open after approval of the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board, probably in Summer of 2018.

The deep approach is about mindset and embodied action. It is about persons, humans, in the dynamics of living. It is something people want to live and work for. It is never fully achieved, it is always in the making, and depends upon situations.
